I have never shared a fudge recipe with you before and since Christmas is next month, I figured I better change that now!  This No Fail Turtle Fudge is such an easy recipe that anyone can make. There is no candy thermometer involved, and no chance you’re going to mess it up. If you’ve never made fudge before, let this be your first recipe to try!

I have made old fashioned fudge before. You know, the kind you have to boil, and test, and take it’s temperature, and pray it turns out?

Um, it didn’t work out. One time was a success, the other time? The fudge would not set up no matter what I tried. I even put it in the freezer over night. Still liquid. Lame.

Now I stick with no fail fudge. It turns out every single time, and the texture is so smooth and creamy, even straight out of the fridge. I LOVE this fudge!

I added caramel and salted pecans this time to make a decadent turtle fudge. It’s soooo good, guys. Such an impressive (easy) treat to add to your holiday baking list this year! The only trick with the 3 layers is to work fast.  Have the chocolate and caramel ready to pour before you start layering. If you wait too long in between, they will not sick together very well (but it will still taste awesome).

Even if you want just a plain chocolate fudge: use this recipe!! Just leave out the caramel and nuts. Who knew 3 ingredients could taste this rich and impressive? Now you know! :)

No Fail Turtle Fudge

This No Fail Turtle Fudge recipe is so easy to make, but it looks and tastes very impressive! Add this recipe to your list of holiday treats this year!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 6oz caramels
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Topping

  • 1/4 cup pecans (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 3oz caramels

Directions

Step 1
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the chocolate, butter, and condensed milk. Stir often until melted and smooth.
Meanwhile melt the caramel and milk in a bowl in the microwave until completely smooth.
Step 2
Line a 8" square pan with parchment paper and spray with a bit of cooking spray. Pour half the fudge into the pan, smoothing into an even layer. Carefully and evenly pour caramel on top of the fudge layer. Add the remaining layer of fudge and smooth it out. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
Cut into small squares. Melt the 3 oz caramel with 1 TBS milk until smooth. Drizzle the fudge with caramel and pecans. Store in the refrigerator.

Hi, I made the Turtle fudge and it isn’t firm enough to cut. I even left it overnight in the fridge. The layers stuck together well, the caramel is nice and soft/gooey but I can’t cut into squares. Spoon works best. Any suggestions for next time?

You’re kidding! Bummer :( mine was firm enough to cut after 2 hours in the fridge…maybe add 1/2 cup extra chocolate chips next time? I don’t know why it isn’t firming up for you. So sorry!
